Carson & Nettie Jenkins Clippings

(The obit. for Carson Lee Jenkins is one I wrote. There wasn't one printed in our paper.) CARSON LEE JENKINS Carson Lee Jenkins, 86, of 19611 Crystal Rock Drive, Apt. 12, Germantown, Md. died Thursday November 27, 1997 at Shady Grove Nursing Home in Shady Grove, Md. Mr. Jenkins was born on May 5, 1911 in Shenandoah County, Va., the son of Arthur J. & Oma Margaret (Mumaw) Jenkins. He was a farmer for much of his life. He married Nettie Agnes Entsminger in 1932. Mrs. Jenkins died on July 1, 1953. Surviving are four daughters, Mary Furr of Germantown, Md.; Frances Jennings of Nor- folk, Va.; Catherine McKay of Winchester, Va.; Dorothy Hyde of Front Royal, Va.; four sons, Norman Jenkins of Mishawaka, Ind.; Charles Jenkins of Jacksonville, Fla.; John Jenkins of Martinsburg, W. Va.; Leonard Jen- kins of Upper Marlboro, Md.; a sister, Mrs. Jessie Whittington of Berryville, Va.; 21 grandchildren; and a number of great-grand- children & great-great-grandchildren. He was preceeded in death by a son, Doug- las Jenkins; a sister, Mrs. Emma Hausenfluck; three brothers, William, Arthur & Howard Jen- kins; and three grandchildren, Donald Furr, Cristina Jenkins, & Philip Jennings. Funeral arrangements were handled private- ly in Maryland.

(From The Winchester Evening Star date unknown at present.) Mrs. Nettie Jenkins Mrs. Nettie Jenkins, 42, died yesterday morning at 8:15 o'clock at her home in Frederick county. She was born May 18, 1911 in Lexington, the daughter of the late Ashby and Mary Smith Ents- minger. She was the wife of Carson Jenkins. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Strasburg Christian Church. Surviving are her husband; five sons, Douglas, Norman, Charles, John and Leonard Jenkins, all liv- ing at home; four daughters, Mrs. Mary Furr, Frances Jenkins, Ka- therine Jenkins and Dorothy Jen- kins, all at home. The body is resting at the Jones Funeral Home. Funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.
