FATALLY HURT ---------- Charles L. Brown, Mangled by Car, Dies in The Frederick City Hospital near Trego, died at the City Hospital on Wednesday the result of injuries sustained in the Brunswick car shops on Tuesday. Mr. Brown was employ- ed as a car repairer and was under one of the box cars, making repairs, when a shifting box car came upon him and the wheels passed over his body, badly mangling him near the hips. He was rushed to the Frederick City Hospital where he lingered un- til Wednesday. Mr. Brown was 33 years of age and had been employed at Brunswick some time. He form- erly lived near Ijamsville, Frederick county. He is a member of the B. & O. Relief Association and Red Men, of Brunswick. The remains were removed to his late home near Trego late Wednes- day and were taken in charge by Un- dertaker E. D. Suman, of Keedys- ville. He is survived by his wife, who was a Miss Daugherty, formerly of near Ijamsville and four children, the youngest being eight months old and the eldest eight years. His mother, also survives, lives in Pitts- burgh. A brother William was killed in an accident at Pittsburgh about four years ago. The funeral will take place Friday, leaving the house at 1 o'clock. Ser- vices at the Winebrennarian Church, Samples' Manor, by Rev. Noah W. Castle, pastor of the Church of the Brethren, Brownsville and Rev. Combs, of the U. B. Church at Roh- rersville. Pallbearers: G. Barkman, Clyde V. Potter, Urner Dagenhart, Charles Gross, Charles Bird and John Holmes. |
